LAKE VILLAGE – Frank Manning, 70, a Montgomery County native and former Darlington resident, died here Monday morning of a heart attack. He was born in Sugar Creek Township, Montgomery County, to George and Ida Petro Manning. He was graduated in 1917 from Darlington High School. He later married Gydia Bryant of Lake Village, and moved there where he was barber. He served with the U. S. Army overseas during World War I. Survivors include the widow; a daughter, Mrs. Joan Harvey of Lake Village; two brothers, Collin W. of Darlington and Norman of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a sister, Mrs. Frances Barricklow of Waynetown, and several grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Minerva Gibson. Funeral arrangements are pending here. – jlr

DARLINGTON—Funeral services for Frank Manning, former Darlington resident, were held Wednesday afternoon in the Presbyterian Church at Lake Village. The pastor of the church was the officiating minister. Military rites were conducted at the church and at the grave site by members of American Legion Post No. 375 of Lake Village. Serving as pallbearers were James Biddle of Crawfordsville, Philip Biddle and Richard Manning of Waynetown, David Manning of Warsaw and Estel and Lavern Hill of Lake Village. Burial was in Lake Village Cemetery. Masonic services were conducted Tuesday night at the Lowell Funeral Home. Relatives from this area who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. J . C. Manning and Mr. and Mrs. Marion E. Maxwell of Darlington, Mr. and Mrs. James Biddle of Crawfordsville, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Manning, Mr. and Mrs. Philip Biddle and Mrs. Frances Barricklow of Waynetown and Mrs. George West of Lafayette. Mr. Manning died at his home early Monday from a heart attack.
